At the age of 24, co-driver Vicky Johnson from Denbigh, North Wales has had a short but successful start to her rallying career.
Beginning her rallying on smaller local single venue rallies back in 2000, Vicky progressed to competing on national gravel rallies within her first year. “I soon decided it was time for the next step and relished the challenge of bigger and harder rallies”.
Vicky's rallying career has subsequently taken a similar path to that of Paul's (Alexander). Taking up the opportunity to co-drive in the Ford Rallye Sport KA Championship, Vicky was successful in assisting her driver in securing top 3 results. However, half way through the year Vicky's driver was forced to retire from the championship leaving her to secure runs on the remaining rallies of the year with other drivers which included a number of runs in the Peugeot 206 Rally Challenge.
In 2004 Vicky took the next step up the ladder and secured a regular co-driving seat in the Ralliart Mitsubushi Evolution Challenge. “I had only dreamt of competing in 4 wheel drive cars and so when I was approached I knew it was an opportunity I couldn't miss”. As well as competing in this manufacturer backed one-make championship Vicky also competed alongside a number of other drivers on both national and british rally championship rallies, enabling her to further develop her skills and experience as a co-driver.
In 2005 Vicky joins Paul to contend the ANCRO Gravel Rally Championship, as well as competing in the British Rally Championship Stars of the Future and MG ZR Rally Championship.
