After the unfortunate retirement from the Manx National Rally, the SRM Racing engineers returned the car to the workshops and discovered that the front differential hadn’t actually failed. Instead, they were shocked to find that both gearbox and transfer cases had split, almost certainly from the considerable shock loads that the Manx bumps and jumps place on the car.

Regardless, having previously found differential damage after the Border Counties event, Team PURE Digital were delighted to be offered the opportunity to trial a pre-production version of Cusco’s latest Mitsubishi front differential. Subject to a successful test prior to the Mutiny Rally, we will be the first European team to use the product in competition, and hope that the re-designed/modified parts will improve traction and aid reliability. We also hope that our relationship with Cusco will lead to further development transmission parts appearing in the Evo as the year progresses.
