TEAM THREATEN MUTINY IN MID-WALES!

Team PURE Digital pairing of driver Paul Alexander (Kings Langley) and Vicky Johnson (Denbigh) travel to Wales this weekend to contest round 4 of the MSA National Gravel Rally Championship. Based in the mid-Wales town of Llandrindod Wells, the Mutiny Rally sees competitors tackle eight classic forest tests, and promises to provide a thrilling battle for places throughout the high-quality field.

After what can only be described as a character-building start to the season, the PURE Digital team are hoping to bounce back from their disappointing retirement from the previous event on the Isle of Man, with the aim of clinching a top-10 finish.

Using their regular Yokohama-shod Mitsubishi Evo VIII, a steady start is planned whilst Paul re-acclimatises to gravel driving techniques last used three months ago, before increasing the pace and pressure on the other leading UK crews.

"I'm really looking forward to the event" commented Paul. "The mid Wales forests offer some of the best stages in UK rallying, and reward committed driving. I've contested a few events in these forests before, and have always thoroughly enjoyed them. This will be the first event in 2005 where I have had the same co-driver as on my previous event, so I'm looking forward to the benefit that continuity is sure to bring".

Team PURE Digital will once again be performing under the watchful eye of the Sky Sports in-car cameras, which have recorded the team's terrible run of luck all season. Although Paul doesn't subscribe to comments often made about in-car cameras bringing bad luck, he has joked about ways to change the team's luck. "I'm not at all superstitious, but Vicky recently mentioned that Welsh sheep are lucky, so I've threatened to take one along with us for the ride – I really am that desperate to have a clean run and post competitive times!
